Nick Woolley

Nick Woolley

CEO and Co-Founder

Nick is ev.energy's CEO, and co-founder. Nick is a multi-EV owner and passionate about decarbonising the energy system. His past experience includes 8 years running a web development company, and 3 years working for National Grid, where he also spent 6 months working in partnership with US residential solar installer, Sunrun. He loves energy networks, and has a PhD in Power Systems.

Chris Darby

Chris Darby

CTO and Co-Founder

Chris is ev.energy's CTO, and co-founder Technology and strategy consultant professional. Chris loves technology, and creating delightful user interfaces that customers love to use. He has run teams across a variety of programming stacks, with particular experience in mobile app development, and web development in python. He has an MEng in Information Systems Engineering from Imperial College.

Joseph Vellone

Joseph Vellone

Head of North America

Joseph leads ev.energy's strategy and growth, covering commercial partnerships and expansion into North America. Joseph previously spent 4 years as a strategy consultant in the Boston Consulting Group's energy and environment practice. He holds an MSc in Environmental Economics from LSE and a BA in Environmental Policy from Princeton University.

Ashley Grealish

Ashley Grealish

Head of Engineering

Ashley leads the Engineering team at ev.energy, covering the development of the mobile applications and back end systems for managing smart charging. He has a background working in startups, including leading the development of a connected solar-powered battery system which has 100,000s of units deployed globally. He hold a MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College.

William Goldsmith

William Goldsmith

Head of Commercial & Grid Services

William leads ev.energy’s commercial partnerships and utility projects. William previously spent 6 years with National Grid, working across Grid Services Development, Corporate Strategy and the National Electricity Control Center. He holds an MEng in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton, including an exchange scholarship to the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Rich Owen

Rich Owen

Head of Product & Design

Rich is an experienced digital designer, animator, and user experience champion. He leads ev.energy’s app and design, from early doodles and concept sketches, right through to live product delivery. Rich designed his first website over 15 years ago and has since gone on to create digital content for major television and entertainment brands, including 2 years at the helm of a number top-rated apps and games for Endemol Shine UK.

Sandy Neill

Sandy Neill

Customer Success Manager

Sandy is our Customer Success Manager and is responsible for delighting our customers and ensuring a fantastic user experience. He has a BSc in Environmental Sciences and was previously working for a tech start up based in Melbourne. He loves travelling, music and sports. He also happens to be a Liverpool fan which must explain why he is always smiling.

Tamsyn Mathew

Tamsyn Mathew

Software Engineer

Tamsyn is a front-end app developer at ev.energy with a keen interest in styling. She grew up in South Africa and comes from a Performance Arts background. She started teaching herself coding in 2017 and loves React Native almost as much as she loves travelling. She is also the reining King of Arm wrestling in the office!

Will Ruddick

Will Ruddick

Software Engineer

Will works on ev.energy’s back-end systems, spending most of his time trying to figure out how to make cars and charge points talk to our platform. He has a Meng in Electronic Engineering from Sheffield University. He can usually be found sitting on a bean bag or losing in arm wrestling competitions.

Ben Garrett

Software Engineer

Ben works on ev.energy's back-end systems, mostly on code to communicate with car chargers. He's been a professional programmer for an alarmingly long time (25 years!) and lives in sunny Devon. His main hobby is trying to get his kids to get off their phones!

Carla Gouws

Carla Gouws

Software Engineer

Carla is a software engineer at ev.energy, responsible for all things data! She has an BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, where she grew up. She started coding in 2018, and hasn't looked back. She loves music and travelling, is a bit of a foodie, and channels her creativity into interior design.

Eddie is a back-end developer with ev.energy. When he's not building vehicle integrations, Eddie is studying for his Computer Science degree at King's College London. Eddie loves skiing and travelling, and is trying to reduce his carbon footprint as much as possible.

Caroline Christie

Caroline is passionate about delivering the best possible experience to ev.energy customers. A dual UK-US citizen, Caroline grew up in New Jersey but now calls London home. When not handling EV charging drama, Caroline works behind the scenes with her local community theatre.

Chris is a customer success advocate with ev.energy. When not chatting with customers and ensuring that they are delighted by our product, Chris plays rugby union for the Glasgow Alphas, goes hiking, canoeing, and works to expand the ever-growing rainforest of house plants in his front room.

Kathleen is ev.energy's Senior Marketing Advisor. Kathleen has over 9 year’s omni-channel experience working across automotive, telco, fintech and tech industries, working at national, European and Global market levels. She has a passion for data-driven marketing, seamless customer experiences and amplifying technology for good.

Matthew Wald

Summer Intern

Matt joins us from the University of California - Berkeley, where he's pursuing his MBA at the Haas School of Business. Prior to business school, Matt worked in politics, most recently serving as the Executive Director of a trade association that lobbied on transportation issues. He's excited to blend his passion for transportation and sustainability to support ev.energy's growth this summer!

Andea is an B.S./M.S. student studying Computer Science and Energy Resources Engineering at Stanford University. She is passionate about the cleantech field in addition to all things energy and is excited to learn more about the EV field while interning at ev.energy. In her free time, she loves to travel and create delicious vegetarian food as well as spend as much time as possible in nature.

Dale recently completed her BSE in Computer Science at Princeton University, where she will be returning as a masters student in Computer Science in the Fall. Outside of ev.energy, she can be found hiking, building furniture, and raising chickens.

James is a rising sophomore at Princeton University working towards a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering. He lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. In his free time James loves riding roller coasters and travelling.
