PALO ALTO, California, October 1st, 2024Emporia, a top energy management solutions provider, and ev.energy, the leading provider of managed EV charging solutions, today announced a new partnership that will provide drivers with access to cost-effective and environmentally friendly charging options at an affordable upfront price.

The collaboration integrates Emporia’s highly-rated and competitively-priced Level 2 EV Charger with ev.energy’s smart charging platform and provides Emporia customers access to ev.energy-powered programs from utilities including Con Edison, National Grid, and MCE.

The partnership furthers ev.energy’s mission to expand access to affordable EV charging while enhancing grid resilience and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

Seamless Access to Incentives and Solar Charging

Drivers can benefit from additional financial incentives by enrolling in charging programs, which shift charging to the best time for the grid via the Emporia or ev.energy app.

For instance, the MCE Sync smart charging program offers a $50 sign-up bonus and $10 per month cash back for participating in at least 2 low carbon events, while Con Edison’s Smart Charge New York and National Grid’s Massachusetts Off Peak Charging Program provide incentives for charging when rates are lower, typically overnight.

Emporia chargers are also compatible with ev.energy’s solar-to-EV charging solution, which adjusts charge rates to match surplus home solar generation—resulting in financial savings, reduced carbon emissions, and less strain on the grid.

“By partnering with Emporia, we are expanding our reach to a broader base of EV drivers across the U.S. This partnership not only drives growth in our utility customers’ managed charging programs but also offers more affordable charging options without compromising on quality. Together, we are pushing the envelope on accessible and sustainable EV charging,” stated Julie Taylor, VP of Utility Sales & Partnerships at ev.energy.

“Our integration with ev.energy lets Emporia users maximize their cost- and energy-savings potential through utility programs. This is a huge win for customers looking to optimize their EV charging costs and contribute to a greener future,” said Ben Thacker, Executive Vice President of Business Development at Emporia.

Empowering Utility Partners and Drivers Alike

The integration also benefits utility partners, who can now include Emporia chargers in their managed charging programs, broadening their reach with one of the top-selling EV chargers in the U.S. and enhancing program effectiveness.

"With this partnership, we can integrate Emporia chargers into MCE Sync, enrolling more drivers and incentivising grid-friendly EV charging behavior. This helps drivers earn cash back while supporting a sustainable energy future for California", said Melanie Biesecker, Customer Programs Manager at MCE.
