PALO ALTO – ev.energy has won the Electric Power Research Institute’s (EPRI) Incubatenergy® Labs Challenge, from a field of more than 130 start-ups. The Incubatenergy® Labs Challenge selects start-ups to demonstrate innovative technologies under the leadership of EPRI, Ameren Corporation, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), and Southern California Edison (SCE).
ev.energy will partner with Ameren to deploy its managed charging software to EV drivers in Illinois and Missouri. Amid the COVID-19 epidemic, ev.energy’s wireless solution will be deployed remotely without any on-site presence or installation, by connecting telematically to EVs and managing their charging using real-time price, grid and carbon emissions signals from Ameren. EV drivers will be incentivized to stick with managed charging through bill savings and other rewards, with the option to donate their savings to a charity of their choice.
