ev.energy to also donate up to £15,000 to the Fuel Bank Foundation as a result of smart charging in October

LONDON, UK – ev.energy, the electric vehicle (EV) software specialist, has launched its ‘Power in Action’ incentive, designed to help people save money on their energy bills.

The organisation has expanded its rewards programme this October to allow users to:

  • Claim their reward credits, accrued by using the ev.energy app to complete smart chargers of at least 10kWh, off their energy bills. No matter their energy provider.
  • Gift this money to friends and family for their energy bills. They can gift to anyone with an energy bill – they don’t need to be ev.energy users.
  • Donate their reward credits to the Fuel Bank Foundation – which provides people with the financial support and practical advice that they need to navigate the fuel crisis.

ev.energy’s new incentive comes at a time when the rise in energy prices is hitting people across the country hard. It is predicted that many small businesses are likely to go bust, and that thousands of households will experience energy poverty. This is why ev.energy will also donate £1 to the Fuel Bank Foundation for every smart charging user it has in October.

Nick Woolley, CEO at ev.energy, comments: “Today, ev.energy is announcing the Power in Action initiative. We are going to give every EV driver who manages their charging with ev.energy money off their energy bills. Drivers can choose whether they want to save on their own energy bill or donate to someone in need with our claim, gift, or donate options. EVs save drivers money, and we want them to do more for the grid and society”.

If all 70,000 ev.energy users smart charge for the month of October and make the minimum reward claim of £5 then that would equal £350,000 in energy bill savings or donations in October alone. Against the backdrop of volatile energy markets, energy insecurity and carbon outputs, a renewable, flexible energy system is the obvious solution.

Nick continues: “Our goal is to get our drivers to plug in to better. We are urging people to look beyond the headlines and think about what a clean and secure energy future could be. We need to electrify everything as fast as possible and help balance the grid.”
