From 30th June 2022 it will be illegal to sell and install home and workplace charge points in Great Britain that do not comply with the Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021 and ev.energy is helping the industry prepare for this change.
The Enforcement Policy states that maximum penalties of up to £10,000 could be imposed on those selling charge points that do not comply with the new regulations. The Office for Product Safety & Standards (OPSS) will determine what level of monetary penalty is reasonable and proportionate, based on its assessment of the nature, seriousness and circumstances of the case.
